Do Your Homework Series: “Hegel is an Alchemist” and “Marx is a Gnostic” (Understanding Their Heretical ‘Confession of Faith’)

I’ve learned a number of things today–being halfway through a three-part lecture series by James Lindsay. I’m pondering a number of these things to incorporate into other writings here, but for the moment I will share the three videos. I intend to keep listening as I work this evening and hopefully finish up the third.

I paused to share this short post. I paused after the speaker stated that the original title to the Communist Manifesto was called “The Communist Confession of Faith.” I have Googled but not read the link I attached.

If the Church is to understand current heresies in play (many of which, though resurrected by Marxism, go all the way back to the snake in the Garden), it must understand a number of conceptual things. These three talks were apparently given at a conference in a church setting. Though Lindsay professes atheism (maybe agnostic, I am unsure) he treats and connects with Christians on these issues with the utmost respect. And I respect that, and him, for his expertise.

In these talks, Lindsay does an excellent job referencing orthodox Christian tenets of the faith (theology), and contrasting them with what he calls the “Theology of Marxism.” I link that, too, in addition to the series of three below. He probably is doing a better job than the average church goer in his conceptual presentations, in some ways. The two parts in quotations in my title are two points he keeps making about Hegel and Marx; his emphases and presentations will help Christians understand that Marxism is not about economics, but it is clearly a religion.

Marxism/neo-Marxism (however one names it and the various philosophers past and present it now encompasses–like a virus with many mutations advancing) is a kind of different operating system. Think of a Windows computer versus a MAC. Both can run some of the same things but each operating system functions and processes in a very different way.

There are some in our churches today that can’t clearly connect the dots to recognize when a Pastor, ministry leader, author, podcaster or layperson is now running on (and promoting) this new, emergent, progressive (fill in the blank in terms of naming…WOKE…etc) operating system.

We must train our minds and ears to recognize the signs that a church leader/influencer is no longer running on the historic, orthodox operating system of God’s Church and the bible. But rather, they are still using the bible and directly/covertly mixing in other Marxism ideas with enough true-sounding things (biblical or otherwise) that disguise the fact they are slowly indoctrinating their listeners into a new faith.

This “new faith” is of a heretical (in error scripturally/historically) nature and requires much discernment to identify.
